Development of health information literacy questionnaire in patients with coronary heart disease and its reliability and validity |

Abstract Objective To compile a health information literacy questionnaire for patients with coronary heart disease, and to test its reliability and validity. Methods The content system of health information literacy questionnaire for patients with coronary heart disease was constructed by literature retrieval, brainstorming and expert correspondence consultation with Delphi method. After the preliminary survey, 224 patients with coronary heart disease who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected from the outpatient department and ward of a third-grade Grade A hospital in Yueyang City from August to September 2022 by convenience sampling method to test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire. Results Two rounds of Delphi method formed 27 items of pre-test questionnaire. After item analysis, 5 items did not meet the requirements were eliminated, and then exploratory factor analysis was conducted. The KMO value of questionnaire was 0.898, P<0.001. Five factors were extracted, and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 61.778%, indicating good questionnaire validity. The overall Cronbach's α coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.888, the Cronbach's α coefficient of each dimension was 0.688~0.867, and the retest reliability was 0.865, indicating good reliability of the questionnaire. Conclusion The health information literacy questionnaire of patients with coronary heart disease has 5 dimensions and 22 items, which can be used to evaluate the health information literacy of patients with coronary heart disease, and provide an effective basis for medical staff and health educators to carry out health education.
