Resveratrol inhibits TREM-1 expression and alleviates LPS-induced acute lung injury in mice |

Abstract Objective To observe the effect of resveratrol on the expression of triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1(TREM-1) during acute lung injury (ALI) and the effect of resveratrol on ALI mice. Methods We observe the effect of resveratrol on the survival rate of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) (Mice were treated with a lethal dose of LPS 50 mg/kg) -induced ALI mice; To detect the effect of resveratrol on the respiratory function of ALI mice induced by LPS (10 mg/kg); To observe the effect of resveratrol on the pathological damage, the level of total protein, total cell count, neutrophil count, LDH activity in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), and the effect of resveratrol on TREM-1, IL-1β, IL-18 expression and MPO activity in lung tissue of ALI mice. Results We observed that resveratrol can improve the survival rate and respiratory function of LPS induced ALI mice, reduce pathological damage, vascular permeability, inflammatory infiltration, and decrease the expression of inflammatory factors of lung tissue. This study is the first to observe that resveratrol can reduce the expression of TREM-1 mRNA in macrophages of stressed by LPS, and its mechanism may be related to MAPK and NF-κB signal pathway. Conclusion Resveratrol downregulates the expression of TREM-1 in LPS-induced ALI mice through MAPK and NF-κB pathway, and can alleviate ALI.
