Abstract:ObjectiveTo study and confirm the influence of core stability rehabilitation exercise on the muscle thickness and cross-sectional area of multifidus muscle in patients with low back pain.MethodsA total of 102 patients with chronic nonspecific low back pain who were treated in our hospital from November 2021 to December 2022 were selected and divided into 2 groups according to random number table method, with 51 cases in each group. Patients in the control group received routine rehabilitation training, mainly in the prone position, lateral position and supine position suspended state training. The test group underwent core stability training, including warm-up, stretching and core training. Before and after treatment, musculoskeletal ultrasonography was performed to compare the multifidus muscle thickness and cross-sectional area of the two groups before and after treatment, and to evaluate the therapeutic effect and lumbar motion of the two groups.ResultsThe multifidus muscle thickness and cross-sectional area were measured continuously before treatment, and the reliability of measurement was 0.89-0.96, indicating good reliability. After treatment, the thickness of bilateral L4/L5 multifidus muscle increased in both groups, and the thickness of bilateral L4/L5 multifidus muscle in experimental group was greater than that in control group, and the cross-sectional area of bilateral L4/L5 multifidus muscle increased in both groups after treatment. The cross-sectional area of L4/L5 multifidus muscle in experimental group was larger than that in control group. After treatment, the motion of flexion, extension and lateral flexion in both groups was increased, and the motion of flexion, extension and lateral flexion in the observation group was higher than that in the control group. After treatment, the total effective rate of the experimental group was 84.32%, and that of the control group was 62.75%. The total effective rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group.ConclusionsCore stability rehabilitation exercises can improve the muscle thickness and cross-sectional area of multifidus muscle in patients with chronic nonspecific low back pain, and musculoskeletal ultrasound can effectively evaluate the changes in the muscle thickness and cross-sectional area of multifidus muscle in patients with chronic nonspecific low back pain.
