Abstract:Objective To explore the repair effect of self-etching adhesive combined with composite resin on deciduous tooth caries and its influences on tooth sensitivity and marginal fitness. Methods A total of 84 children with deciduous tooth caries admitted to the hospital were enrolled between April 2019 and April 2022. According to random number table method, they were divided into experimental group (n=42) and control group (n=42). On basis of composite resin, control group was treated with full-etching adhesive, while experimental group was treated with self-etching adhesive. The curative effect after treatment, grading of tooth retention and marginal fitness, incidence of complications, tooth sensitivity [tactile value of tooth sensitivity, schiff cold air sensitivity scale, visual analogue scale (VAS) ] and gingival index in the two groups were observed before and after treatment. Results The total response rate of treatment was higher in experimental group than control group. After treatment, Tactile value was greater in experimental group than control group, while VAS and Schiff scores were lower in experimental group. The grading of tooth retention and marginal fitness were better in experimental group than control group. Immediately after treatment, at 1 month and 3 months after treatment, gingival index was lower in experimental group than control group. The incidence of complications was lower in experimental group than control group. Conclusion The repair effect of self-etching adhesive combined with composite resin is good on deciduous tooth caries, which can effectively improve tooth retention, marginal fitness, tooth sensitivity and gingival index, and reduce the incidence of complications.
