Abstract：Abstract: Autophagy is a kind of degradation mechanism widely existing in eukaryotic cells. In plants, au-tophagy helps maintain homeostasis by degrading and recovering intracellular substances through strict regu-latory pathways, thus making plants respond to a variety of developmental and environmental signals. More and more studies have shown that autophagy plays a role in various processes such as development, aging, biological and abiotic stresses. This paper reviews the related research progress of autophagy in plants, in-cluding the regulation mechanism and biological functions of autophagy. The purpose of this review is to provide reference for related research on autophagy.
