Abstract：Abstract: The lungs are an important part of the respiratory system, consisting of the trachea-based parenchyma and the surrounding mesenchyme. Studies have shown that gender differences exist in lung de-velopment. Lungs mature later in male fetuses than in female fetuses, and this is thought to be attributed to the difference in androgen production between genders. In addition, clinical data indicate that androgens also lead to some lung-related diseases. Herein, the effects of androgens on trachea, terminal alveoli and lung im-munity are summarized in order to benefit the future related research.
