Abstract:Abstract: The endocannabinoid system (ECS) consists of cannabinoid receptors, endocannabinoids, and enzymes involved in the synthesis, transport and degradation of endogenous cannabinoids. It participates in various physiological and pathophysiological processes in the gastrointestinal tract, and maintains the balance of the internal intestinal tract through the basic regulation of cannabinoids. Herein, the roles of ECS in normal gastrointestinal function and irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer and other diseases were reviewed. The research progress of ECS with relation to gastrointestinal diseases such as vomiting would provide effective theoretical guidance for clinical treatment of these diseases.
