Abstract：Abstract: A latest checklist on the diversity and distribution of bat species in Hunan Province was made and statistically analyzed based on the updated taxonomic system of bats in the world. The results indicated that there are a total of 33 bat species belonging to 5 families and 16 genera documented in Hunan territory. Among these, the dominant bat species are cave-dwelling and 31 species (94%) are included in the Red List of China’s Vertebrates, as well as 16 ones enlisted in the Key Protective Wildlife Checklist of Hunan Province. According to the zoogeographical regions of China, most bat species recorded (79%) belong to the Oriental Realm, while the Widespread and Palearctic Realms only account for 15% and 6%, respectively. Meanwhile, certain corrections were made for the Chinese names and Science names of some bat species. Finally, some relative issues were discussed, and relevant suggestions were presented.
