Abstract:Abstract: Heterosis is a common phenomenon in nature, which is widely utilized in rice, maize and silkworm. Meanwhile, heterosis is also an indispensable tool to improve the social and economic benefits. However, research on the theory of heterosis lags far behind the practical application. Here, the development status of heterosis utilization, the research progress and development tendency of heterosis genetic mechanisms were summarized. In future studies, heterosis should be investigated through a combination of transcriptomic and proteomic approaches, which might provide reference and theoretical guidance for study of the genetic mechanism and utilization of heterosis.
