Abstract:Abstract: Unc5 gene family belongs to classic axon guidance gene families. In order to explore the evolution and diversification rules of Unc5, the origin and distribution of Unc5 gene family members were identified in most of species by sequence alignment and protein-domain prediction. Then, the evolutionary selection pressure and functional divergence of the subtype genes were analyzed by the softwares PAML and DIVERGE. The results showed that Unc5 gene family has undergone selection pressure in different degrees in vertebrates. The Unc5C gene has undergone purifying selection, while the Unc5A, Unc5B and Unc5D genes have undergone positive selection with 8, 1 and 6 positive selection amino acid sites, respectively. What’s more, thirty-eight type I functional divergence sites and ninety-seven type Ⅱ functional divergence sites were found by using software DIVERGE. These positive selection sites and functional divergence sites would be conducive to the further study on structure and function of Unc5 proteins.
