Abstract:Abstract: The WRAP53β protein, an important member of the WD40 protein family, controls intracellular trafficking of telomerase, DNA repair proteins and the splicing factors, and is also involved in the formation of Cajal body, telomere stability and elongation. Dysfunction of this protein has been associated with premature aging, cancer and neurodegeneration, and this suggests that WRAP53β will be a potential molecular target in treatment of diseases. Here, the multifaceted molecular functions of WRAP53β and its research progress in diseases were reviewed.
